Located on the east side of Atlanta, Inman Park was the city’s first suburb. An engineer named Joel Hurt designed Inman Park in the late 1880’s, and he intended it to be something of a rural outpost, connected to the city via electric streetcars.
Today, Inman Park is known as one of the first intown neighborhoods to experience gentrification, and some of the grand Victorian homes have been lovingly restored. Every year, the neighbors come together to celebrate the Inman park Festival and a Tour of Homes.
